Teddy is still watching The Bachelor--she can't help it!

The women are so mean to each other, it's awful. Courtney Robertson seems determined to belittle and mock all the girls around her. Figures. Fopsie told Teddy that Courtney has dated celebrities like Jesse Metcalfe and used to go to all the Hollywood parties! Not marriage material.

The race seems to be between Courtney and Emily, below, but Teddy wishes he'd end up with Kacie B. She is a sweet Southerner who doesn't look like she'd ever hang with lame-o actors like Jesse.

Actually, the cutest girl on the show is Ben's SISTER Julia. Maybe she, not Emily Maynard, should be the next Bachelorette! Julia's on Facebook, check her out. She's an Event Coordinator at Ben's Envolve Wines.

The Pearl Earrings

Maybe Felicia was right, thought Teddy. Maybe the pearl earrings she wore for her Halloween Grace Kelly costume need to come out.

It's been hard for Teddy to let go of them. She feels special when she dresses up. But most bears just don't wear earrings and in may ways, Teddy is a conformist.

There's one of the earrings. Finally out. Awww, Teddy will miss them.

Trying to be a good sister, Teddy invited Felicia over to look at wedding magazines.

"Felicia, I want to buy your wedding dress for you," offered Teddy. "Pick one out!"

"Why are you being so nice to me Teddy?" Felicia asked. "It's making me nervous."

"FELICIA! I'm trying to make an effort here," said Teddy. "Plus I want you to feel like a princess! I want this day to be special for you." Teddy wept a little as she said this. Felicia didn't notice. She was too busy looking at Town & Country Weddings.

Teddy was so STUNNED by the news that her little sister Felicia was going to get hitched that she had to hibernate for a week (sorry readers). After Teddy woke up, she invited Felicia over to discuss.

"Teddy, I want to get married in your back yard," said Felicia.

"But Felicia, it's winter and the back yard is a wreck from the wind and rain," said Teddy.

"Even my hurricane lamp is a mess and I don't even know what happened to my white candle, I think it melted!" said Teddy.

"But you threw a wedding for Fopsie back here. Why can't you do the same for your own fur and blood?" said Felicia with her back turned to Teddy. Grrrr. Teddy knew Felicia had a point.

The Mean Girls Of The Bachelor

Teddy just can't believe how many mean girls are on this season's of The Bachelor with winemaker Ben F from Sonoma (sorry photo below is so dark--flash probs).

First there is crazy blogger Jenna, who reminds Teddy of all the mean cubs in her high school. Yuck. Glad she went home! (Look at those crazy eyes, zoiks!)

Then there is Courtney Robertson who plays innocent with Ben but when she's with the other contestant she shows her sharp claws. Meow! Another meanie. Don't even get Teddy started on Blakeley, who looks like a Las Vegas showgirl. Make that a RETIRED Las Vegas showgirl.

There are some decent ladies, like the one who rode in on a horse. But Teddy truly is disappointed in this crop. The last really cool Bachelor contestant was DeAnna Pappas and that was YEARS ago.

Corner Bakery Lunch

Still stunned from Felicia's news, Teddy decided to treat herself to lunch at the Corner Bakery to think it over.

"Wow, another wedding," Teddy thought to herself. "Wonder what mom will say."

"Do I have to invite mom? Who should come? Should I really make the theme pink? How will Fopsie feel? After all she used to date Edward!" All these thoughts came rushing through Teddy's furry head.

For lunch Teddy ordered a raspberry bar and a cup of coffee. Delicious!

BIG News From Felicia

"Edward asked me to marry him!" said Felicia. "Can you throw my wedding?"

Teddy was delighted and gave her sister a big BEAR hug. "Yes, I'll do all the work and I can't wait to get started! The theme will be PINK." Teddy LOVES throwing weddings.

"Teddy, I've been meaning to tell you--I think you should take your Halloween earrings out," added Felicia. "They just don't seem to suit you!" Hmph, thought Teddy, what does Felicia know?

"Hi Nibs, I have a present for you!" said Teddy. Nibs was so shocked he dropped his book.

"Um, Teddy, there are a few pieces MISSING," said Nibs.

"Yes, Nibs, I had to test the chocolate to make sure it was OK for you. I need to test another piece again right now," said Teddy. New Year, same bear.

Teddy REALLY liked the Jackie O. Ray-Ban sunglasses that Nibs gave her for Christmas, so much so that she refused to take them off, even when Herbert and Fopsie came by for a visit.

"Teddy, you look so chic with your Jackie O. sunglasses," said Fopsie. "Do you always wear them inside the house?"

"Pretty much, yup," Teddy replied. (Nibs was a tad embarrassed for his wife.)

"Nibs, what did Teddy get you for Christmas?" Fopsie asked. "Um, Teddy said she forgot it was Christmas so she didn't get me anything," said Nibs. Poor Nibs!

Taking Nibs' advice, Teddy invited her sister Felicia and her mother Beatrice over for some bubbly and cookies.

"So Teddy, have you been hibernating lately?" asked her mom. "We haven't see much of you."

"I have been sleepy, yes that's true. You know how these days of winter affect my mood," Teddy said.
"How's dad?"

Beatrice didn't answer the question and instead changed the subject to the champagne, which she said was quite delicious.

The first day of winter! Brrrr. Teddy was keeping herself busy reading her new issue of Vanity Fair. (Can you see her?)

Of course Nibs came by with something to say.

"Yes, Nibs, what is it now?" Teddy asked rather nicely (remember, she stays nice right up until she gets her presents!).

"Teddy, you haven't done any holiday entertaining yet--you have been very lazy!" said Nibs. "You must have your family over for a little cheer. Especially now that everyone has been getting along so well."

"You might have a point there Nibs," said Teddy. "I guess it wouldn't be that hard to open a bottle of bubbly for a few bears."

Teddy knew this was going to happen. In this week's Life & Style magazine it's reported that Emily Maynard has been offered next season's Bachelorette. Emily is the blondie that Texan Brad Womack proposed to then left. Or she left him. No one really knows!

Of course she's going to join the show. Teddy always knew that girl had stars in her eyes. No one dyes their hair that blonde and doesn't want fame. It's simple LOGIC.

Tree Time

Time to trim the tree! This year the bears were a little late with getting the decorations up.

As usual, Teddy had to do all the ornament hanging as Nibs "supervised," as he put it.

This is how most male bears are: they have to be the boss. Teddy, who is pretty bossy herself, recognizes this in Nibs and sort of accepts it. At least at Christmas time.

Well, that is until she gets her paws on her presents! Then she goes back to being the old Teddy.

The Great Presidio Outdoors

The backyard section of El Presidio had rural charm.There was no over landscaping--a la the Beverly Hills Hotel--here!

In the olden days, farmers used carts pulled by ox, like this one below. There were no tractors.

And grapes were grown for winemaking. No one picked up their Markham Chardonnay at TJ's!

All this sight seeing made Teddy's paws tired so she had to rest on a bench.

Maybe it's time to get back to L.A.? Surely Nibs is missing her...

Back in the old days of California, no one used AK47s. The military might was canons. Teddy couldn't believe how BIG they were. Not easy to fit in your pocket, no, no!

Church Time 1800s Style!

Back in the 1800s, churches were very important. All the Spaniards went and prayed and looked for spiritual guidance. They didn't just go to church to get a free sip of wine, like Teddy does!

Notice all the rojo (that's red in Spanish). Color everywhere!

The rest of the church was accented nicely by turquoise benches.

Can you see Teddy sitting on the bench? She's pretty small, but don't tell her that. She's very fearful she has Bear Shrinking Syndrome. Shhhhh.

Feeling blue, Teddy got in her Benz and drove north to Santa Barbara SOLO. No Nibs. Fopsie has always told her to visit El Presidio De Santa Barbara so she did.

Teddy was fascinated by this old ranch/mission built in 1782 during the American Revolution.

The Spanish built this fort and Lt. Ortega was the first to run it--that was back when California was called Alta California. Inside, Indians worked and the Spanish military planned.

The simple Spanish architecture wowed Teddy. Join your favorite bear as she gets all Rick Steves on us and gives us a tour of this historic site.

Poor Teddy, she is so busy with her family drama that she doesn't have time to cook a proper meal (not that she ever does anyhow) so she's been relying on Trader Joe's ready meals. Teddy visits the store so often they should rename it Teddy Joe's!

Last night she cooked up Mandarin Orange Chicken. It even says on the back, "So easy, even a bear can do it!" Teddy did not appreciate that one bit, but she did acknowledge that they had a point!

What's better than fried chicken and sugary mandarin sauce? Not much.

Don't forget to steam some white rice too. That took only about 20 minutes. Easy peasy!

Sisters Pep Talk

As could be guessed, things didn't go perfectly on T-Day. Beatrice asked Felicia why she wasn't married yet, which Teddy SPECIFICALLY asked her mom to not bring up. So Felicia came over for a pep talk (that's Teddy on the left, Felicia on the right).

"Felicia, you need to give people an answer when they ask you why you aren't getting married," said Teddy. "Sometimes you get mad and keep it all in which stresses you out. Why don't you give them the Teddy treatment and tell them to mind their own damn business?"

"Teddy, I'm not feisty like you. We sure do look alike, but we really aren't alike at all," said Felicia. "Sometimes I wonder if we have the same father." (GULP!)

"How is dad anyhow?" asked Teddy.

Pumpkin Bread

So many people asked what Teddy served Beatrice yesterday that she's decided to share her secret: boxed pumpkin bread mix from Trader Joe's.

Simply add the mix, 2 eggs, water and vegetable oil and stick in the oven at 350 degrees for 55 minutes and voila! Yummy autumn tastiness.

One can eat for breakfast or dessert. Don't forget to add little pats of butter to achieve optimum deliciousness.

Last night during Dancing With the Stars there was a commercial for the new season of ABC's The Bachelor, which debuts Jan. 2, 2012.

Ben Flajnik, Ashley Hebert's cast off from last season's Bachelorette, is the star and it looks like he is in San Francisco...? The photo below looks like it's taken on the San Francisco Bay. Well, he is from Sonoma, which is only an hour north.

In the clips we get lots of good details, like that Ben makes out with a girl in, where else? A hot tub.

And he makes out with a girl in a canoe...

And he bonds with this cute blonde who looks like a cross between Emily Maynard and Ashley Hebert.

We also learn that a woman in her 60s is one of the contestants. She hobbles out of the limo with crutches and tells Ben she fell madly in love with him while watching him on The Bachelorette. Ben looks horrified. Can't wait till Jan. 2!

With T-Day fast approaching, Teddy's mom asked if she could come over for some coffee and cake talk.

"Teddy, I want to come to your Thanksgiving dinner, but I am worried that I might say something wrong to Felicia and mess the whole day up," said Beatrice.

"Mother, just be nice. And don't keep asking why she won't marry Edward!" said Teddy. "You've been on a good streak. I know you can keep it up!"

Nibs just can't believe that all this drama continues! Sometimes, all Nibs wants to do is crawl into a dark cave.

After the Rain

After torrential rains in L.A., Teddy came out to her car (well, it's really Nibs' car, but Teddy thinks it's hers) this morning to discover it was super dirty!

There were tiny leaves everywhere, coating the car. Teddy couldn't even get them off with her paw, it's like they were stuck on with glue.

Some leaves even lodged themselves into the numbers on the car.

Time to go to the car wash! Or, time for NIBS to go to the car wash, Teddy thought.

Heating Up

With the chill in L.A. just getting worse, Nibs thought it was a good time to invest in a jumbo space heater.

"Teddy, our fur is good, but it's not good enough to fend off this fall chill, so here you have it, a deluxe space heater," said Nibs.

Nibs even showed Teddy how to work it in case he wasn't home and she needed to warm up.

Teddy was still a little mad at Nibs for asking her about her pearl earrings so she was irritated when he came over to talk to her last night as she was snuggled up on the living room couch.

"I think I hurt your feelings Teddy, I'm sorry. I know better than to asked a lady bear about her accessories," said Nibs. "It's chilly in the house. Can I get under your fur blanket?"

Teddy was too cold to show her claws at Nibs so she let him get under the blanket and gave him a, what else? A bear hug. That's the secret of marriage: knowing when to let things go. "Your earrings are pretty," said Nibs.

Teddy was grooming her fur in the bathroom last night when Nibs suddenly barged in on her. "Teddy, are you going to keep on wearing those pearl earrings from your Halloween costume?" he asked.

"Last year you kept wearing those eyelashes, this year it's the pearl earrings," he continued.

Feeling insulted and picked apart, Teddy just turned her back to Nibs.

"Teddy are you OK?" Nibs asked. "Why aren't you talking to me?"

On the way out of the theater, Teddy couldn't find her car. She must have looked on every floor!

All vehicles look the same these days. Where is Nibs when Teddy needs him?

Ah-ha! Our clever bear found her car. It was the only one that was backed in (Teddy is an excellent parker), so it was kinda easy to spot, actually.

Leo's Suit Makes Teddy Roar!

After all that Halloween excitement, Teddy decided to take in a movie alone at the Landmark. Deep down, bears really are solitary animals.

Teddy wanted to see them all, but settled on 50/50. Seth Rogen has a lost some of his charm. :(

On the way out Teddy noticed the costumes for J. Edgar. There were displayed in the lobby. Leonardo DiCaprio wore the one on the left. He must be tall! (A lot taller than Nibs, thought Teddy.)

Hats. Hats need to come back into fashion, thought Teddy.

A Hollywood Halloween

Once again, Teddy dressed as a glamour gal. This year she is Frances Stevens, played by Grace Kelly, from the 1955 Hitchcock classic To Catch a Thief (no eyelashes this year, thank goodness).

Nibs dressed up as Johnny Depp. "Nibs, that's cheating," said Teddy. "You can't just tie on a photograph of someone. You have to wear that person's clothes, props, attitude!"

"Whatever, Teddy," said Nibs. "You're just jealous because my costume is genius in its simplicity!"

"Well, I will admit that you look pretty darn cute Nibs!" said Teddy.

"Before Nibs could let the compliment sink in, Teddy was already off to the candy bowl. That Teddy! A one track mind...

Sandwitched

With her appetite fully worked up, Teddy stopped by Sandwitched, which reminded her of that magical 60s TV show "Bewitched" about the dazzling Samantha Stevens and her boring husband Darren. Teddy is a wee bit like Samantha, don't you think?

There was so much to choose from! Teddy knew Nibs would enjoy the ham and cheese panini sandwich so she ordered one for him to go.

Can't forget a little Snapple to keep the fur thick! (At least that's what Teddy thinks Snapple does.)

A Banana For Nibs

With Nibs in mind, Teddy dropped by Banana Republic.

He could use some new shirts and jackets, though most of the time he likes to wear nothing but his bow tie!

Teddy chose the blazer on the far left. The color will bring out Nibs' eyes! Of course, it needs to be drastically altered, but that should take only a few weeks!

It's never too early to start Christmas shopping....right?

Never before has Teddy shopped at a Victoria's Secret. There really isn't much need to as bears don't require lingerie--they have fur to cover their bodies!

But there were other things to purchase in the store besides lacy stuff--the perfume looked quite appealing.

It was pink, all pink! And smelled like bubble gum.

One of the newer fragrances, Bombshell Seduction, had a dandy fan theme.

How could Teddy leave without a bottle of Bombshell Seduction? The name sells itself! This will be Teddy's Secret, shhhh, her secret potion that is. Nibs will be caught under her spell.

During a stroll through the Westside Pavilion, Teddy noticed a sweepstakes.

Teddy hasn't been to Las Vegas in over a year. Time to go back!

The ole fuzzball filled out a form adding all her pertinent information.

Halloween Inspiration?

To get some inspiration for Halloween, Teddy visited the Westside Pavilion over the weekend and happily sauntered into Nordstrom.

So many shops, so many choices. How is a bear to decide?

After an hour, Teddy had to rest her paws on one of those benches they install for the elderly.

Teddy had to admit: she's not as spry as she used to be, especially after that clash with her mom Beatrice. (She's still in town, by the way, and Teddy is a little afraid she could run into her at the mall.)

In Honor Of...

In honor of the new peace Teddy has found with her mother Beatrice, Teddy planted (and when I say "planted" I mean stuck in a pot) a Rosemary bush. She wanted to plant an olive tree, but she couldn't lift the damn thing out of Home Depot and these days those workers there will not help anyone, not even a cute little bear.

Not only is the Rosemary bush lighter, it also has a lovely fragrance, and its needles can be used in several dishes, like Rosemary Chicken and Rosemary scones. The possibilities are endless (even though Teddy doesn't cook at all, it's still nice to dream about).

Look at that pretty pinch of Rosemary in Teddy's paw. Teddy tried to eat it, but she had to spit it out--the raw needles gave her a tummy ache.

Teddy got a lovely Halloween card from her sister Felicia (they seriously bonded over the whole Beatrice debacle).

What should she be? Someone suggested that she dress up as Cleopatra, who Teddy is currently reading about. Hmmm, how would she get her paws on a headpiece made of serpents and gold beads? And should Nibs dress as Marc Antony?

Now that the whole Beatrice debacle is over, Teddy is able to get back to her normal life. To get her away from her reality TV obsession, Nibs bought her a copy of Cleopatra: A Life by Stacy Schiff.

Teddy can relate to this Egyptian queen because she fought with her entire family--her brother even tried to kill her! (Teddy doesn't have a brother that has tried to kill her, but her mother has in the past delivered some deadly insults!)

No one really knew for sure what Cleopatra looked like, but they will say she was charismatic (like Teddy!).

Finally, like Teddy, Cleopatra had a love of pearls! NO KIDDING (look at the book's cover, that's Cleopatra with pearls in her hair, a look she loved). And she liked lots of other stones too, like rubies, which you can see in these dangly earrings above. Is Teddy the new Cleopatra? Maybe.

There was an 80s theme on Dancing With the Stars last night so Teddy just could not miss out.

Last week it was down to Chynna Phillips and Rob Kardashian; Chynna got the boot.

This week all the talk was about how Karina Smirnoff postponed her Jan. 21, 2012 wedding to baseball player Brad Penny. Fopsie, Teddy's source on all things Hollywood, said that Karina is having cold feet. (Is she still in love with Maksim Chmerkovskiy?)

It's nice to see that Rob--who has been bullied by the 4 Ks (Kris, Kim, Kourtney and Khloe), his whole life--is shining under Cheryl Burke's tutelage.

(Doesn't it seem like Rob and Cheryl are having an affair? Just asking.)

Nibs was so happy that Teddy was happy, he surprised her with a fresh croissant from Bouchon Bakery in Beverly Hills.

"Nibs, I am just thrilled that my mother has suddenly turned nice, I can't even tell you," said Teddy.

As Nibs went off to make some business calls, Teddy pondered. Why has Beatrice all of a sudden become kind? What changed her? (Uh-oh, will Teddy be able to figure it all out?)

Her croissant, slathered with butter and jam, was so good, Teddy became distracted and lost all thought about her mother. (Thank goodness.)

Teddy thought it was very bizarre that Beatrice asked to meet with her and her sister Beatrice ASAP. Very afraid (and losing fur faster than ever), Teddy said OK because she hoped peace was possible.

As Teddy and Felicia sat huddled together for support, Beatrice was all smiles, so unusual for her. "Girls, I think I have been much too hard on both of you," their mother started.

Inching closer, Beatrice seemed truly sorry. "Teddy, you don't need to lose a pound, you look perfect! Beatrice, if you don't want to get married, that's fine, as long as you're happy, that's all that counts."

Teddy was shocked by this new Beatrice. She was at a loss for words! So was Felicia who was so happy she smiled from ear to ear. "Group hug!" said Beatrice.

"This is a miracle!" said Teddy. "I can't believe we're all getting along. Christmas has come early this year indeed. I can't wait to tell Nibs." Ahhhh, if Teddy only knew the real reason Beatrice was doing a 180, all her fur would fall out. Shhhh, don't tell Teddy. Ever.

A Prickly Picnic

As he said he would do, Herbert asked his aunt Beatrice for a talk. Wanting a neutral, public environment, Herbert suggested Beatrice meet him in Beverly Hills' Roxbury Park for a picnic.

"Thank you so much for inviting me Herbert, it's so good to see you," said Beatrice. "I have been having such a bad time with Teddy and Nibs, who have been bossy with me!"

"Beatrice, you know that Teddy is my favorite cousin and Nibs is my best friend, right?" he asked. "No," said Beatrice, getting tense. "Well, they are and I don't like to see them upset," added Herbert.

"Well, all I said was that it's shameful that Felicia has no plans to marry Edward," said Beatrice. "That's funny," said Herbert. "Isn't it true that you married neither Teddy's father nor Felicia's father?" said Herbert. BOMBSHELL! Not only did Beatrice never get married herself, but Teddy and Felicia have DIFFERENT fathers! During morning coffee talk today Fopsie brought up that Teddy was in tears and losing her fur because her mother Beatrice was stirring up trouble in the clan.

Edward was very upset with this news. "I will talk to Beatrice," he said. "That bear has no boundaries. But I have the dirt on her that not even Teddy and Felicia know about. Don't worry Fops, I will handle it!"

"OK Herbert," said Fops. "But don't get too involved. I hear that Beatrice can be really mean. She was so nasty to poor Nibs."

"Hee hee hee, if you only knew what I know about Beatrice, you wouldn't be worried my dear bear!" said Herbert (remember, Herbert is Beatrice's nephew!).

Feeling like Herbert had the TeddyNibsBeatriceFelicia thing under control, Fopsie turned her attention to the Cost Plus World Market insert in this week's Los Angeles Times Select. Lots of nice Halloween things! Maybe Teddy will want to go shopping with her this weekend.

Starbucks Talk

Teddy showed up to the Starbucks her mom Beatrice wanted to meet her at right on time--12 noon sharp on a sunny Sunday.

Teddy waited for 15 minutes then got a coffee and mini cupcake because, you know Teddy, she can't wait when it comes to treats!

Then another 15 minutes passed. Teddy got yet another cupcake, because, really two is better than one.

Finally by 12:45 pm, Teddy realized that Beatrice was not going to show. Sheesh. Teddy didn't really expect that... Crestfallen, she headed home to Nibs.

"OK, I can do the Starbucks on Santa Monica Blvd. tomorrow, sure, what time?" asked Teddy, shaking a little.

Nibs Confronts Beatrice

After putting it off for days, Nibs finally asked Beatrice for a talk. So she came to the house (Teddy was on one of her drives) and the two bears sat on the bench in the courtyard.

"Beatrice, things are not going well. I would really like it if you could be easier on your daughters Teddy and Felicia," Nibs started. "They are doing the best they can. Teddy can't lose any more weight. She's so stressed out about what you think of her shape that she's losing her fur! And Felicia doesn't want to rush into marriage with Edward."

"Nibs, I am just trying to be a good mother by guiding my girls--they need my advice," Beatrice said. "I don't need you butting in. If you don't like it you can take a hike!" Beatrice really got in Nibs' grille! Look at her lunging at the guy!

"No, Beatrice, you can take a hike!" said an angry Nibs. "Leave my courtyard now!"

Nibs insisted that Teddy get out of the house for some fresh air so she went for a stroll (where else?!) in Beverly Hills. Paper Source caught her eye immediately.

They already have their Halloween cards in and boy oh boy are they spookier than ever!

The windows were just full of lovely autumnal things! Teddy's mood perked up.

Fall is Teddy's favorite time of year. Her fur gets thicker (it's been falling out lately thanks to Beatrice, but oh well) and she loves it when Starbucks starts making their Pumpkin Lattes! YUM.

Poor Teddy has been so stressed out over her mother Beatrice's visit (Felicia won't even answer her phone!), that Teddy hasn't been able to cook at all, not even her Bertolli frozen pasta meals. So Nibs picked up McDonald's for her.

"Teddy, you are way too stressed out!" our favorite bow-tied bear said. "I've noticed that your fur has been falling out. It's all over the house! I'm going to have a talk with your mother. This must end!"

Has Teddy EVER lost her appetite? Especially when tasty fries and warm burgers (2!) are in front of her? This was a first.

After a brief hibernation brought on by the stress of having her mother Beatrice in town, Teddy emerged from her bed yesterday. On Nibs' advice, Teddy asked Beatrice to come over for some fun. So together they took in the season premiere of Dancing With the Stars.

Fopsie, Teddy's Hollywood insider, said that Mark Ballas is already hitting on his partner, The Hills beauty Kristin Cavallari, and that is why he recently broke up with American Idol singer Pia Toscano.

Fopsie also said that George Clooney's ex-girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis is the LEAST liked on the set because she is not friendly (it may have something to do with her awkward Italian accent--the girl can barely speak English!).

Instead of fighting, Teddy and Beatrice were bonding over the show--Beatrice loved it that Teddy had the inside scoop. That Nibs sure is a smart bear!

With thoughts of getting her out of L.A., Teddy invited her mom Beatrice over yesterday afternoon. On the menu was Teddy's favorite meal: cinnamon rolls and coffee.

Turns out Teddy's mother was more interested in picking on Felicia than on Teddy. Teddy discovered that when her sister and Edward came over for refreshments.

Last night the bears were enjoying some post dinner coffee and strawberries when they heard a knock at the front door (a collective sinking feeling overwhelmed the bears).

"Well hello there daughter," said Teddy's mother Beatrice.

Teddy was in shock to see her mother in the fur, so to speak. Teddy was paralyzed with fear. Just the sound of her voice brought back a flood of bad feelings about poor grades, chubby wisecracks (Teddy used to be plump) and her inadequate cooking skills. "Come on in," Teddy said meekly.

After Beatrice settled in with her coffee, Teddy collected herself. "Wow, she's really here," Teddy kept thinking, but she still managed to smile.

The weekly reports that Jen has moved into a cozy house in West Hollywood with her new boyfriend Justin Theroux. They also bring up a beach wedding which sounds borderline ridiculous.

Check out the new pad. Sort of modest for a superstar like Jennifer, thinks Teddy.

To work off that croissant, Teddy hit the world-famous running path along San Vicente Blvd. in Santa Monica.

After two feet of running, Teddy was tuckered out. She blamed it on her thick coat of fur. It is summer, after all!

Perhaps it's a better day to dolphin watch instead, thought Teddy. So she walked, ever so slowly, toward the benches on Ocean Blvd.

Bouchon Bakery Beverly Hills

Home again, Teddy decided to catch up on all things new in L.A. and on the top of her list was the just opened Bouchon Bakery in Beverly Hills.

Located near Bouchon Bistro, that charming French cafe that borders the Beverly Canon Park, the Bakery is actually much smaller than you'd expect.

It sits beneath the stairs that lead up to the main restaurant. Yes, there are 3 Bouchons: the main restaurant, the Bistro and the Bakery. Whew!

Teddy ordered the fruit croissant with a side a butter (she doesn't worry about her cholesterol level, clearly) and some ice water.

The verdict: yummy! Crispy from the buttery goodness and the fruit was perfectly cooked and nicely chunky. Bravo Bouchon!

After her snack, Teddy got pensive by one of the park's three fountains. Maybe being back in L.A. isn't so bad after all....

Teddy was hiding from Nibs outside. She didn't want to go home because the country air had been so good on her nerves and despite that "credit" thing at the candy shop, she and Nibs had gotten along famously.

Sigh. She supposed all good things must come to an end... well, at least back home she can return to her reality TV addiction!

Today Tibs went to Ojai's little park, the Cluff Vista Park, you know, the one that isn't far from a candy store!!!

Teddy loved the Tuscany vibe of the park. Everything in Ojai is a little Tuscany-ish.

It was hot, about 100 degrees, and with all that heavy fur Teddy got toasty but that didn't stop her from reading about flowers... She loves her blossoms some.

By 11 am Teddy was exhausted! "Nibs, I need a candy bar!" she screamed. We all knew it was a matter of time before she broke down.

It's so quiet in Ojai the bears really didn't know what to do with themselves this morning.

Over coffee they discussed their options. Teddy suggested they visit the local park to check out the flora and fauna.

Nibs felt like Teddy had something up her fur, specifically that she wanted to visit the candy store that is located right next to the park. Oh well. Teddy has been a good bear on this trip. She deserved a little sugar.

Nibs asked Teddy to go for a walk with him in the hills of Ojai, but she said no way.

Ahhh, there's nothing like some fresh country air to make a bear feel relaxed. Teddy and Nibs loved their Ojai rental and spent most of their time in the back yard watching butterflies and looking for bobcats.

Look at these bears. They have been getting along for weeks. This is a record indeed.

Nibs says he has been trying to get Teddy in nature as much as possible and away from all that reality TV, specifically ABC's Bachelor Pad which is full of villainous dopes like Vienna and Kasey! UGH.

His plans seems to be working... for now.

Teddy usually sleeps in till say around 10 am. So Nibs, an early riser, has learned to make his own coffee. Good thing he has a Tassimo Home Brewing System, which is so simple.... even a bear can do it! (Sorry Tibs.)

First Nibs selects the type of coffee he's craving: Light roast? Dark roast? Hazelnut?

Pop in the packet...

And press the big button. Because Nibs has big paws, he likes big buttons.

The coffee brews. It takes like 20 seconds. That gives Nibs just the right amount of time to think about what he'll do for the day. He usually settles on whatever Teddy wants to do. He says it's easier that way.

Ahhhh, now Nibs has the energy to deal with his better half.

When Teddy gets hot, she usually just rests in the shade like most bears do. But yesterday she was so caliente (she has a thick coat of fur) she just had to take a bear dip.

Afterwards, Teddy laid around, trying to lighten her fur. All bears like summer highlights.

Teddy and Nibs have been together for 10 years now. In bear years that's like 1. You see, bears live a long time. With them, it's like the reverse of dog years. To celebrate Teddy bought a very fancy cake.

After The Final Rose With Ashley and JP!

Teddy made it a marathon evening. After taking in The Bachelorette, where JP Rosebaum proposed to Ashley Hebert, Teddy watched the After The Final Rose Ceremony. Because she's a sucker that way.

It got a little tense when Ashley faced rejected potential fiance Ben F. But he seemed to take her brush off well which made Teddy think that he could be perhaps the next Bachelor.

Once she was done with him, host Chris Harrison brought out the winner, JP! Ashley jumped up from her seat, ran to him, and planted a big kiss of the guy. Looks like love!

Ashley is moving to NYC next month to be with JP. They are getting an apartment together. Serious! ABC also offered to fly them back to Fiji. Another success story (so far).

Tonight was the night! Finally Ashley Hebert hands out the final rose to her man.

JP chooses a square cut diamond ring from Neil Lane. CLASSY.

Awww, the proposal in Fiji! As Teddy predicted, Ashley selected JP Rosebaum from NYC who got down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage.

Ashley said yes, of course, and he slips the ring on her finger. Here is a close up shot below. Nice manicure Ashley!

JP Proposes Tonight!

Yes, today is the day we all see JP propose to Ashley Hebert on The Bachelorette. Awwww. Get your Kleenex out.

Are you anxious? Teddy is. Blogger Reality Steve reports that JP gets down on one knee in Fiji and offers her a big diamond ring from Neil Lane. And she says yes!

He also spills that Ashley plans to move to New York City to be with JP. Don't forget to set your DVRs! It all starts at 8 pm on ABC. After that comes the After The Final Rose Ceremony. It'll be a long night.

Jillian Lauren Is Back!

The other night Teddy was reading the August issue of Los Angeles magazine to check out the latest and greatest her city has to offer.

She was shocked to read that her favorite author Jillian Lauren (she penned Some Girls, which chronicled her real life experience as a member of a harem in Brunei) has written another book!

It's a fiction book called Pretty: A Novel about one woman's experience in a beauty school. Teddy can't wait to buy a copy on Amazon.com when it becomes available on Aug. 30. (Click blue link for a quick pre-order.)

Felicia and Teddy Cocktail Talk

Felicia said she needed some sister time. Uh-oh. "Of course," Teddy said. "Come on over for some cranberry juice on the rocks!"

"Teddy, I want Edward to propose to me," Felicia said frankly. "You got Nibs to pop the question fast. How did you do it?"

Teddy was stunned. "I had no idea you were that serious," said Teddy, which really wasn't the truth, but she didn't know what else to say. "I gave Nibs an ultimatum, actually. I said marry me or else! It's my style."

"Did I hear my name?" said Nibs, who popped out of nowhere, as usual.

"Um, er," Teddy stammered. "I don't know!"

Bertolli To The Rescue!

Teddy doesn't like to cook. That's why she was thrilled to see a commercial for Bertolli frozen pasta, which she snapped up at her local Ralph's.

All Teddy had to do was open the package with her paws, and toss the ingredients in a skillet.

Cooking time was 10 minutes and all that was required was a little stirring.

Nibs was her Guinea Pig. "Teddy, your cooking is excellent!" Nibs praised.

Teddy was quite proud of herself. Thank you Bertolli!

Ashley Hebert: The Final Rose Ceremony in Fiji

There have already been previews of The Final Rose Ceremony on ABC's The Bachelorette, which airs August 1.

Ashley hands out the final rose on the island of Fiji. Ryan returns but is sent home yet again (awww, sad for him).

Ashley chooses her man (JP? Or Ben F?) on the beach. She wears a pink dress and the men arrive by seaplane (Teddy is pointing her paw toward the aircraft to make sure you see it!).

Ashley seems to have a hard time deciding between the men and says, "I hate this, it's not fair!" Lots of waterworks.

Check out Ashley's fancy drop earrings. Teddy likes that they're pearl!

Next week: the overnight dates.

Mating Season

Wow! Teddy and Nibs are getting along really well. Today Nibs even bought her roses.

Oh, I know what it is. It's mating season for bears. No wonder Nibs is laying the romance on thick.

Does that mean Nibs is pressuring Teddy to produce a cub? (I am too afraid to ask. Yes, I am their blogger and know them well, but don't want to get too personal!)

A Rare Moment

It's been a tough week already for Teddy. She had to beat the heat at the park and brave lines at the supermarket. So today she had a slice of lemon and raspberry tart for breakfast. Yup, FOR BREAKFAST!

It's moments like these--just Teddy and her dessert--that she most cherishes in life. But sometimes those moments can get interrupted.

Remembering what Fopsie taught her ("Be kind to your husband," she always says), Teddy let him share her seat.

And in a very un-Teddy moment, she even let Nibs have a bite of her tart! Can you believe it?

Teddy Goes To Ralphs

For most people this would be a regular weekly thing but for Teddy, well, going to Ralphs is a big deal!

You see, Teddy normally doesn't grocery shop at all (she orders take out). And when she does she hits Trader Joe's. Ralphs is like a distant planet to her. But she loved it.

There were so many flowers to choose from! Roses everywhere!

There must have been 5,000 strawberries on display. Teddy was overwhelmed by all the goods.

Cakes, cakes, cakes! Teddy bought three! She just couldn't decide.

She even bought a sweet love card for Nibs. Awww. Teddy couldn't believe the overabundance. She may have to take a break from her beloved TJ's (so small!) and be a Ralphs girl for a while. :)
